Unblock a website on the computer?

My computer my sister gave me before she went to college has like 5 of my fav sites blocked i need to unblock them, im sick of using proxies i need to unblock them all together i use fire fox but on every other internet browser its blocked too. I HATE PROXIES plz help ty

Reply:my best guess is that there is software on there that is blocking it so search for that and uninstall it or go into your uinternet restricted zones and see if the sites are being blocked there

privacy then


sites then


click allow on all the sites that are blocked.





BUT, she might of put in a password, if she has then you're stuck.

Reply:if those fail other than the one user who suggested by turning off firewall wich i highly do not recommend, i would check my hosts file.





c drive


windows


system32


drivers


etc


right click hosts file, click open with, selecting from list notepad.


i would look directly under 127.0.0.1 localhost for any websites she may have blocked.


Do Not Delete 127.0.0.1 localhost


sites under that are ok to remove.


click close and when prompted say yes to save changes.
Reply:You can easily unblock the websites in the Internet Explorer by clicking the "Tools"%26gt;%26gt;Internet options secuirty and then sites and chk if the websites are available there if yes, select them and remove them and restart yojur computer later.
