How to unblock a firewall?

i have a firewall blocking me from limewire, i know to unblock it wuld b bad but please i need to know how to just unblock limewire only from the firewall

You didnt say what kind of firewall - is it a router firewall? a software firewall like zone alarm????????????????

Reply:First of all check which firewall are u using. Did u turn off the firewall and checked if ur software is able to get access to the internet. If yes then ull just have to configure the firewall.

limewire = riaa infested u dont want to be sued do you?
Reply:It all depends on the firewall you have. I can tell you for example, I use Outpost as my firewall...when I open it, I click on settings...then on the left of the next screen I click network rules. There, it lists everything that is allowed to open and everything that is blocked. If your Limewire is being blocked, you should find Limewire.exe under a blocked list. You click on it once just to highlight it...then click edit on the right. The edit button gives the option to unblock it.


But like I said, it depends on the firewall you use..you might use a different one that works a little different...but you can look for something similar to my firewall.
Reply:Well it sounds like you have a firewall were you are not administrator.





So there is really nothing you can do but sweet talk the network admin into opening up the ports for you.





If you had a Windows firewall Limewire would have built a firewall exception during the installation.





If it's a home router then whoever setup turned on the firewall.
