Unblock my computer?

at my work, they blocked almost everything, i can't play games or do anything. this window pops up that says: Access to this URL has been blocked. so, how do i get it to unblock? i don't have administrative priveleges, and i just want to play some games dammit! please hlep if you can!

Reply:hey. so i have had this same problem at school lately. me and my friend have found websites called proxy sites that let you go to any website but from that website. like if i wanted to go on myspace. i go to that website and lets say the url is "www.example.com" then on that website i can enter www.myspace.com in the box provided. then when i go to myspace it still says"example.com"


now most of these proxy sites are blocked my good blockers but i have tried one that actully works!

Reply:Unless you really want a very good chance at losing your job I wouldn't.





Any decent IT department has other tracking software watching exactly what you do. If you are caught going around the companies firewall, in most places that is a "fired on the spot" violation of the work rules.





And being fired for that also negates your ability to get Unemployment checks.





Think hard before you do this. It could cost you a lot more than you think it will.

Reply:If anyone catches you attempting to by-pass this, or just playing games on a works machine can get you fired, and a bad employment record. The attempt to by-pass it can be considered an illegal access to the machine. This is imprisonable.
Reply:You can't, unless you befriend your System Administrator and he/she unlocks things, and you get some sort of management approval. However you will probably have them telling you to get back to work, sorry.





Oh and yes they are probably watching you too, all of those failed attempts probably send an email to your IT person who will then forward them directly to your boss, especially if he/she sees you trying to access one of the aforementioned proxy sites. Trust me I work in IT and my boss does not like it when people try to lessen the security of the network.
